They call him Teddy

A big thanks to Teddy Burns for clearing things up for everyone.  I was wondering why the first poster would be calling Dr. Pellow "The Baconator".  Sorry Teddy if some rogue poster temporarily usurped your identity.  It can sometimes happen on a free forum such as this one.  I'm sure you understand.

What actually shocks me about this whole incident, is not the fact that two Teddy Burns have posted on my blog.  It's the fact that the second one, assuming it's actually him (don't respond Teddy, I'm just playing devil's advocate here), simply stated that he is in fact Teddy Burns, he did not post earlier, and that's that.  Aren't you going to defend your candidate in the slightest way?  No comment about any of the recent allegations?  Nothing?  I've heard of silence being the best defence, but this one puzzles me.  Maybe they're still too busy canvassing by phone and strategizing to pay any heed to a simple blog.  In four short days, the outcome will be know to us.  Maybe then, we'll have some answers my friends.

  1. I believe, Mr. X, that Mr. Burns was simply stating that he has no interest or time to reply to your blogs or your readers' comments. Maybe he finds it pedestrian. Maybe he finds it offensive. Why should voters have the right to speak their mind about the elections in a public forum?

But wait! That would allow just anybody to make any comment. Anyone could take a picture of an old beat up hockey stick and post it alleging that a candidate tooting his own philanthropic horn donated the gently used equipment to the poor kids of Chapleau. Anyone could do that and disregard laws against libel.

No, what we need here is a controlled forum that removes questions and comments, that strategically posts scripted questions and that closes when someone realizes that the forum gets more visits from critics than from supporters.

  2. Sorry Voter Q, but if the forum is controlled and removes questions and comments, then we are no better than communist China. Think of the recent elections in Iran... The elections were a sham and when citizens tried to voice their concerns in an attempt to preserve a shred of democracy, the government and the clerics accused them of criticism, curtailed their rallies, shut down the Internet and threw the foreign press out of the country so that the world could not see what was happening. What you are proposing is no better than what is happening now in China and Iran and that's not right. If Dr. Pellow thinks that he is a victim of libel, he can undertake the steps that he thinks are necessary. Dr. Pellow has chosen to run for public office. He has to learn to take the good with the bad. This applies to all the candidates.

  3. Hockey Mom, reread Voter Q's last paragraph, slowly.

  4. Ha ha ha ha ha!!! O.K. I get it. He was being sarcastic. It's just that I'm really annoyed that Dr. Bill's forum was first censored, then shut down. He can insult people as he sees fit, but he can't tolerate tough questions or comments. It just frustrates me.
