Does anyone know if there is a bylaw regarding large lumber trucks on our town streets? I often see trucks (usually empty) on Birch, Pine and Lorne streets. Has anyone else seen anything of this nature? There was even a similar truck driving in the middle of town the other day while using his engine brakes (Jake Brakes?). I know for a fact that this is illegal. Are there any laws in this town that are enforced?
Seen that! But these trucks are either bringing in or transporting goods, probably trees or wood chips, and the last thing they need at this moment is to be blasted! Let's pick on other things. We should actually have a telethon for our truck drivers so they can stay and live in Chapleau and support their families. If they are parked for any length of time, it probably means that they can't afford the darn fuel to keep operating! This problem is trivial..let's enforce and stand up for our rights first starting with a certain councillor.
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact that what this councillor did was illegal. Laws would be enforced if everyone would get involved!
I am not talking about parking (please read the original article carefully). I am talking about driving down residential streets that they are not supposed to. Preventing children from possibly getting run over by a huge lumber truck, that is not supposed to be there in the first place, is not trivial in my opinion. Maybe you think it is. Yes these people are important for our community, there's no doubt. Does that mean that they should be allowed to ignore whatever laws they choose? I don't think you'll get very far with that logic.
