Gone to the dogs!
As many of you know, Chapleau, like many other municipalities, has a by-law concerning dogs. A dog's mess must be collected and dogs must be leashed at all times. I can say first hand that there are several persons in this town who do not follow this law at all. The regular piles I clean in my own yard are proof of this. I have no dog, so I know that this waste does not belong to me. Too bad there wasn't a street address buried in each pile of dog poo. It would make returning it to the right house so much easier. Some people don't even walk their dogs. They just let them outside to wander and leave their mess wherever they like. Thakfully, most dog owners are intelligent, respectful and conscientious. They are the norm in Chapleau. Otherwise, I'd have a lot more nasty surprises waiting for me outside.

I could not agree more. I have a fenced in yard and yet peoples pets still find a way into it. It is not just dogs but cats as well. I have had them pee on my basement window and use my flower garden as a litter box. The smell is aweful. As an avid jogger there is nothing worse than running along and all of a sudden a dog comes charging out of no where at you. Your animals are not supposed to be able to run free. That is part of the responsability of being a pet owner. I had an issue and I called City Hall about a problem pet. They said they would deal with it. After many more occurences and phone calls to City Hall nothing was done. I then had to take the matter into my own hands. Our beach front is not a place to bring your dog to do it's duty. Closing thought, If a bought a Lion or a Tiger for a pet, would it be ok to let them roam free?
ReplyDeleteSome people have no respect. This morning I was outside and notice a lady walking her dog. You could tell that he/she needed to go to the washroom, finally she allowed him to go, in the meantime, she just stared at me. I wish I knew who she was, I would of reported her. When her dog was done, she turned and started walking once again. I had called out to her, but she didn't turn back.
ReplyDeleteCan't blame the dog, its the own at blame.
Here is an instance of dog neglect. When my wife and I bought our house the previous owner warned us about this dog. Having 2 dogs myself we said no problem. This dog is tied up outside 24 hours a day. The past two summers and winters this poor dog is left out there and barks at everything from a chipmunk to a leaf blowing by to a car driving down the street.
ReplyDeleteI have repeatedly called the town "bi-law officer" called the police more times then I can count, have called the humain society in Timmins as he is left outside no food or water for days and as an animal lover I could not stand to see this as the owner is out at Borden Lake all summer so I took it apon myself to feed it and water it. Well loe and behold the Timmins Humain Society shows up and says that I cant prove that I fed it so they couldnt do anything about it. Insert explatives here.
I have called the town over thirty times. No over exageration here eigther in the last little over 2 years that we have owned this house over 30 times. They said that they have sent this person numerous letters of request to come into the office for a meeting but he is still a no show. This person has 3 dogs 1 tied up outside -40 to +40 and two spoiled little yappy ones that they just let run all over. I think that people should have to have a special liscence to own pets and fines should be stiff so if caught the cost would make them think twice. Wow that took a lot of space.lol TTYSoon Mr.X
